Nourish Liver Ingredients Panel

Zinc (as Zinc Oxide) - Zinc is essential for metabolism, digestion, nerve function, and many other processes. Over 300 enzymes depend on it for their activity. In addition, it contributes to the development and function of immune cells. Minerals like this are also vital to the health of the skin, DNA synthesis, and protein synthesis. Furthermore, zinc promotes cell division and growth in the body. (1)

Choline (as Choline Bitartrate) - To function properly, the liver requires choline and other dietary methyl donors. Nutrients modulate epigenetic regulation of gene expression. Hepatocarcinoma, fatty liver, and hepatic fibrosis can be caused by epigenetic mechanisms. (2)

Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) (seed) - It is used as a complementary therapy by many people with liver damage, including those with alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatitis, and even cancer of the liver. Additionally, it protects the liver from toxins such as amatoxin, which is produced by death cap mushrooms. Milk thistle supplements have been shown to improve liver function in people with liver disease, suggesting they may help reduce inflammation and liver damage. (3)

Beet Root (Beta vulgaris) (root) -Beetroot may also reduce oxidative damage and inflammation in addition to nitrates and antioxidants. In rats, beetroot juice reduces oxidative damage and inflammation in the liver, and increases natural detoxification enzymes. (4)

Artichoke Extract (Cynara scolymus) (leaf) - Artichoke leaf extract may protect or heal the liver. In mice studied in 2021, artichoke extract suppressed symptoms of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, such as elevated serum lipids and bilirubin. Bilirubin is formed when red blood cells are broken down. In mice, artichoke extract reduced inflammation and liver cell death. (5)

Chanca Piedra Extract (Phyllanthus urinaria L.) (whole plant) - Providing a rich source of antioxidants, chanca piedra may improve liver function and protect the liver from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable compounds that can damage the body when they build up in high concentrations. It is also beneficial for treating hepatitis B, an inflammatory viral infection of the liver, according to animal and test-tube studies. (6)

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) (root) - According to some animal studies, dandelion extract may protect against liver disease and damage. According to one animal study, it prevented liver damage in mice exposed to sodium dichromate. In animal studies, dandelion extract has also been shown to reduce liver fat levels and protect against oxidative stress. (7)(8)

Chicory Root (Cichorium intybus L.) - Studies have shown that chicory root extract can help protect the liver from free radical damage. According to a review, chicory extract significantly reduced oxidative stress and blocked cell damage to promote liver health. As a prebiotic, chicory root feeds the beneficial bacteria in your gut. As a result of beneficial bacteria, inflammation is reduced, harmful bacteria are eliminated, and mineral absorption is improved. (9)(10)

Yarrow (achillea millefolium) (flowers) - Inflammation is a natural bodily response, but chronic inflammation damages cells, tissues, and organs. Yarrow can be used to treat skin infections, skin aging, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Yarrow extract not only reduces inflammation, but also increases skin moisture in test tubes. (11)(12)

Jujube Fruit Extract (Ziziphus jujube) - A number of antioxidant compounds have been found in jujube extract, including flavonoids, polysaccharides, and triterpenic acids. As well as being antioxidants, they contain high levels of vitamin C. According to a study conducted on animals, the antioxidant properties of jujube flavonoids helped reduce stress and inflammation caused by free radical damage to the liver. (13)(14)

Alfalfa (Medicago staiva) (herb) - Numerous animal studies have shown that it reduces total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, and triglycerides while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol, which may reduce the risk of heart disease.   Saponin, a plant compound known to lower cholesterol, is responsible for Alfalfa's cholesterol-lowering actions. As an antidiabetic, or blood sugar-lowering agent, alfalfa has traditionally been used. Alfalfa decreases blood fat and blood sugar levels, improving cardio metabolic health. (15)(16)(17)(18)

Burdock Root (atrium lappa) - Burdock root contains antioxidants such as quercetin, luteolin, and phenolic acids. Antioxidants protect cells from free radical damage. Aside from treating and preventing various health conditions, they can also prevent them. Antioxidants can also reduce inflammation. One study found that burdock root reduced inflammatory markers in osteoarthritis patients' blood. Burdock root is often used to purify blood. Toxins can be removed from the bloodstream by burdock root's active ingredients. (19)

Celery Seed (apium gravolens) -In traditional Chinese medicine, apigenin, a plant compound found in celery, is used as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant. In addition to its cancer-fighting properties, it may also possess anti-aging properties. According to a 2016 review, apigenin may induce apoptosis, a form of programmed cell death that may be useful in treating cancer. (20)(21)

Feverfew (Tanacetum partenium) (aerial) - Feverfew is believed to possess painkilling and anti-inflammatory properties. A study has shown that it reduces the release of serotonin from your blood cells and slows the production of histamine, a chemical transmitter. (22)

Grape Seed Extract (Vitis vinifera L.) - Multiple studies have examined the effects of on high blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic. Grape seed extract may improve blood flow, according to some studies. The researchers found that taking 400 mg of grape seed extract for eight weeks could reduce the risk of blood clots in 17 healthy postmenopausal women. The blood level of LDL (bad) cholesterol is known to be associated with heart disease. The oxidation of LDL cholesterol leads to atherosclerosis, or the buildup of fatty plaque in your arteries. In animal studies, grape seed extract supplements reduced LDL oxidation triggered by high fat diets. (23)(24)(25)(26)

Your liver is capable of detoxifying drugs, viral infections, pollutants, alcohol, and other harmful substances. Grape seed extract appears to protect your liver. As a result of toxin exposure, grape seed extract reduced inflammation, recycled antioxidants, and protected against free radical damage. (27)

Methionine - Methionine plays a crucial role in the body's production of other molecules. Cysteine, another sulfur-containing amino acid, is produced from this amino acid. One of the most interesting functions of methionine is its ability to convert into a molecule called SAM. SAM can add a methyl group (a carbon atom and its hydrogen atom attached) to your DNA. Thisary methionine may affect this process. (28)(29)

Yellow Dock (Rumex crispus) (root) - In addition to treating gastrointestinal tract disorders, anthelmintic diseases, anti-inflammatory conditions, and arthritis, this herb is also used as a laxative, antipyretic, antioxidant, and antimicrobial. (30)

Raspberry Juice Powder (Rubus idaeus) (fruit) - Antioxidants are compounds found in plants that help your cells fight and recover from oxidative stress. Oxidative stress increases the risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and other illnesses. Raspberries contain several powerful antioxidant compounds, including vitamin C, quercetin, and ellagic acid. The antioxidant content of raspberries is similar to strawberries, but only half that of blackberries and a quarter that of blueberries. Several animal studies suggest that raspberries and raspberry extracts may reduce your risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. (31)(32)(33)

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) (root) - Oxidative damage is believed to cause many diseases and aging. Unpaired electrons in free radicals make them highly reactive molecules. Organic substances, such as fatty acids, proteins, and DNA, tend to react with free radicals. The main benefit of antioxidants is that they protect your body from free radicals. Curcumin neutralizes free radicals because of its chemical structure. (34)

A key driver of this process is brain-derived neurotrophic factor. Contains a gene that produces a protein that promotes neuronal survival. In brain areas associated with eating, drinking, and body weight, brain-derived neurotrophic factor protein plays a role in memory and learning. (35)

Berberine HCL (Berberis aristata) (bark) – Berberine has now been the subject of hundreds of studies. It affects a wide range of biological systems. Ingestion of berberine enters the bloodstream. Afterward, it enters the body's cells. It binds to several different molecular targets within the cells and changes their functions. In a similar way, pharmaceutical drugs work. As liver diseases are complex and diverse, I won't go into much detail here. AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is an enzyme inside cells that berberine activates. This enzyme is sometimes referred to as metabolic master switches. It is found in many organs, including the brain, muscle, kidney, heart, and liver. This enzyme regulates metabolism. (36)(37)

Ginger - Ginger's distinctive aroma and flavor come from its natural oils, particularly gingerol. Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger. It is largely ginger that is responsible for ginger's medicinal properties. Gingerol has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, according to research. Oxidative stress may be reduced by reducing free radicals in the body. (38)(39)
